About

About the program

Pioneers Basketball exists because a good camp changes how a kid feels about their sport. We keep groups small, we coach every session, and we send them home tired.

Parent FAQ

Does my child need basketball experience to participate?

Not at all! Pioneers Basketball welcomes players of all skill levels, from beginners learning the basics to experienced players looking to improve. Our goal is to help every camper develop their skills, build confidence, and enjoy the game.

What should my child bring?

Campers should wear comfortable athletic clothing, clean indoor basketball shoes, and bring a labeled water bottle. Basketballs and training equipment will be provided.

What will my child learn during camp?

Each session focuses on fundamental basketball skills, including dribbling, passing, shooting, finishing, and defense. Campers will participate in skill stations, competitive challenges, and age-appropriate games that encourage learning and improvement.

Where are camps held, and how long are the sessions?

All Pioneers Basketball camps and training sessions take place at The Pilgrim Academy in Egg Harbor City, New Jersey. Most youth camp sessions last 60 minutes, with specific dates, times, and age groups listed under each program.

What makes Pioneers Basketball different from other camps?

Pioneers Basketball combines experienced coaching, purposeful skill development, and a fun, encouraging environment. Led by Coach Josiah Wiggins, a former college basketball coach and current varsity head coach, our programs emphasize individual attention, meaningful competition, and Christ-centered character development. We want every camper to leave more confident, more skilled, and more excited about basketball.
